Report: Valencia lead race to sign John Obi Mikel

Valencia reportedly lead the race to sign Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel this summer.

Valencia have reportedly moved into pole position in the race to sign Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel this summer.

The Nigerian is believed to be available for the right price as Jose Mourinho looks to make changes to his squad ahead of another Premier League campaign.

According to the Daily Mail, Valencia have made an enquiry as they consider making a bid, but the two clubs are yet to agree on a price.

However, the Spanish club could also face competition from Inter Milan, who are reported to be admirers of Mikel.

The 27-year-old made 36 appearances for Chelsea last season.
