Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning to raid his former club Real Madrid to sign German international Sami Khedira during the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge last year, only for a knee injury to scupper any deal, but The Express claims that the move could be resurrected at the end of the season.
However, it is thought that Madrid may be reluctant to let the player go, with coach Carlo Ancelotti seeing his defensive qualities as a good balance with the attacking pedigree of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
The report states that Khedira would be keen on a move away from the Bernabeu and believes that Mourinho's Chelsea will be an ideal fit, having enjoyed his time under the Portuguese coach during his tenure in the Spanish capital.
Khedira has won 44 caps for Germany.
