Report: Chelsea to submit Christian Benteke bid

Chelsea reportedly consider a £30m move for in-form Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.

Chelsea are weighing up a big-money summer move for in-form Aston Villa hitman Christian Benteke, according to reports.

The Belgian striker has enjoyed a new lease of life since manager Tim Sherwood replaced Paul Lambert in February, netting 11 goals in his last 10 outings.

Sherwood has recently hinted that the Premier League champions could not afford the 24-year-old, who is rated at around £30m.

However, Blues boss Jose Mourinho will look to prove the Villa boss wrong this summer with a bid, according to The Metro.

Benteke's contract at Villa Park expires in 2017.
