Report: Rafael Benitez wants Juan Mata at Napoli

Rafael Benitez reportedly wants Juan Mata to join him at Napoli, with the player's Chelsea future in doubt after another snub from Jose Mourinho.

Former Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly planning a move for Juan Mata.

Benitez, now at Napoli, is ready to make a January move for the midfielder, who is struggling to get games under Jose Mourinho.

According to The Mirror, Mata's Chelsea teammates are baffled by the manager's stance on the 25-year-old after he was left out of the matchday squad altogether against Fulham today.

Mourinho has warned the Spaniard, who was voted the club's player of the year for the past two years, that he must adapt and become more consistent.

If the situation is not resolved by the New Year, then Benitez is more than happy for Mata to join him at Serie A leaders Napoli.
