Jose Mourinho: 'Lionel Messi will never leave Barcelona'

Jose Mourinho suspects that Lionel Messi will spend his entire career at Barcelona despite previous reports claiming that the Argentine could leave the Camp Nou.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho suspects that Lionel Messi will spend his entire career at Barcelona.

Reports this season have suggested that the four-time Ballon d'Or winner could be tempted to leave the Camp Nou after falling out with manager Luis Enrique.

The Premier League leaders were among the clubs linked with the Argentine, although UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations would make such a move difficult and Mourinho does not feel that Barcelona will ever allow Messi to become available regardless.

"I have the feeling that Messi will always be at Barcelona," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying. "I may be wrong and nobody knows what will happen in the future.

"My feeling is that a player of his dimension and significance for a club like Barca, I do not see Barcelona opening the door for Messi to go.

"I do not see Messi playing with another shirt which is not Barcelona's. I may be wrong, but this is my feeling."

Messi was on the scoresheet as Barca beat Granada 3-1 this afternoon to close in on La Liga leaders Real Madrid.
