The agent of Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt reportedly halts talks with clubs including Chelsea in order to force through a move for his client to join Bayern Munich.

The agent of Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt has reportedly halted talks with clubs including Chelsea in order to force through a move for his client to join Bayern Munich.

The 22-year-old's future in Turin is believed to be uncertain, with Chelsea identifying the Dutchman as one of their primary targets as they look to replace Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.

However, the Blues are set to face stern competition from perennial Bundesliga winners Bayern, with Bild reporting that sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has had a three-hour conversation with Juve chief Federico Cherubini regarding the availability of De Ligt.

The report adds that De Ligt's representatives have now stopped talks with other interested clubs, including Chelsea, and they are hoping to agree terms with Bayern on a deal worth around £64m.

De Ligt is allegedly 'keen for a move to Bayern' and he 'favours their attacking style' compared with other interested teams across Europe.

The 38-cap Netherlands international, who has two years remaining on his Juventus contract, has made 117 appearances for the Serie A giants across all competitions and has won both the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia.

Chelsea could now turn their attention to other defensive targets including Manchester City's Nathan Ake and Sevilla's Jules Kounde.
