Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea defender Ashley Cole after he revealed that he was unlikely to be offered a new contract.

Liverpool have reportedly added Ashley Cole to their list of targets for this summer's transfer window.

The Chelsea defender, who is out of contract this summer, announced that he is unlikely to be offered a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

The Metro says that Brendan Rodgers has identified the 33-year-old as a potential signing as he looks to add experience to his squad, particularly among his defenders.

Cole recently announced his international retirement after being left out of England's squad for the 2014 World Cup.
