N'Golo Kante has revealed that other clubs were interested in signing him during the summer but "there was no urge" to leave Chelsea.
The French World Cup-winning midfielder rose to prominence by playing a key part in back-to-back title successes with Leicester City and Chelsea, prior to his heroics with Les Bleus in Russia this year.
Paris Saint-Germain are rumoured to have made contact with the Blues regarding a big-money move for the 27-year-old, but Kante was unwilling to force his way out of Stamford Bridge after being given assurances over his role in the side.
"There was no urge to go anywhere else after the World Cup," he told RMC Sport. "There were other clubs interested but, after talking to Chelsea, things were clear.
"The club is counting on me and I feel good. The next logical step was to continue at Chelsea."
Kante has started all four of Chelsea's Premier League games this season, despite returning late to pre-season training following his World Cup exploits with France.
