Chief executive Scott Duxbury: 'Watford won't sell Richarlison'

Watford chief executive Scott Duxbury says that the Hornets will not sell Richarlison during the January transfer window, despite alleged interest from Chelsea and Spurs.

Chief executive Scott Duxbury has said that Watford want to keep Richarlison at Vicarage Road for "many seasons to come".

Richarlison arrived in England as a relative unknown in August, but the 20-year-old has allegedly started to attract interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur after contributing five goals and three assists in 14 Premier League appearances.

However, despite the possibility of the Hornets being able to at least double the £11.2m they paid for the Brazilian's signature, it appears that the highly-rated winger will remain at the Hertfordshire-based club.

Duxbury told the London Evening Standard: "We want Richarlison to be here for many more seasons. We are building a very competitive squad, we have no need to sell.

"We believe in the season being a race and that's why we will never sell a player in January who we believe will help us. Nobody will be sold that we don't want to. None of the players making an impact now will go."

Watford currently sit in eighth place in the league standings, despite a 4-2 defeat to Manchester United on Tuesday night.
