Danny Drinkwater will stay with Chelsea beyond the end of this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Danny Drinkwater will reportedly stay with Chelsea beyond the end of this summer's transfer window.

The England international joined the Blues from Leicester City in 2017 and made 22 appearances for the London club during the 2017-18 campaign.

Drinkwater did not make a single appearance for Chelsea last term, however, aside from the Community Shield.

According to the London Evening Standard, Frank Lampard had been keen to get rid of the 29-year-old this summer, but there have been no concrete offers for his services.

As a result, the former Manchester United youngster, who has been involved in the team's preparations for the new campaign, is likely to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will open their 2019-20 Premier League season with a trip to Manchester United on August 11 ahead of a clash with Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup three days later.
