David Luiz has revealed that he expects to sign a new deal with Chelsea as he feels "comfortable" at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian centre-back is due to be out of contract in the summer, meaning that he is currently free to discuss terms with overseas clubs.
After starting 33 matches for Chelsea in all competitions this season, 27 of those in the Premier League, the West London outfit have been keen to tie the 31-year-old down.
Talks are believed to have stalled of late as Luiz is holding out for more than a 12-month extension, which goes against Chelsea's policy for players aged over 30, but an agreement is now close to being reached.
Asked if he is close to a new deal, the former Paris Saint-Germain defender replied: "I think so. We are talking with the club. Everybody knows I love this club, I feel comfortable here and am happy here.
"I am doing my job very well so I think a lot is going to happen. I have the job best job in the world so I have to be motivated every single day. I love football, if I didn't love football I would not be playing anymore."
Luiz rejoined Chelsea from PSG in August 2016 and has made 235 appearances for the club across two spells.
