Report: Chelsea defender Abdul Baba Rahman to join Schalke 04 on loan

Chelsea defender Abdul Baba Rahman is set to join Schalke 04 on a season-long loan, according to reports.

The Ghana international joined from Augsburg for a deal worth up to £21.7m last year, but has made just 11 Premier League starts at Stamford Bridge.

In January, the 22-year-old publicly expressed frustration over his lack of first-team opportunities at Chelsea and, according to the Evening Standard, boss Antonio Conte has decided to send him out on loan in Germany, the country where he made his name.

Rahman has 18 caps for the Black Stars and played every minute of his country's campaign at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
