Chelsea's Islam Feruz joins OFI Crete on loan

Chelsea striker Islam Feruz will spend the season on loan with Greek side OFI Crete.

Chelsea have announced that Islam Feruz has joined Greek side OFI Crete on a season-long loan.

The striker, who had been attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs, has won the FA Youth Cup and Under-21 Premier League since joining the Blues in 2011.

Feruz, who has four caps for Scotland's Under-21 international side, began his youth career with Celtic before moving to Stamford Bridge, where he signed a new long-term contract earlier this year.

Crete finished sixth in the Greek top flight last year, and are managed by former Italy international Gennaro Gattuso.
