Chelsea are reportedly lining up a deal to bring Leicester City striker Islam Slimani to Stamford Bridge on loan until the end of the season.
The potential move comes after the Blues failed with attempts to sign Stoke City man Peter Crouch and West Ham United's Andy Carroll, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury.
Chelsea want backup for Spanish forward Alvaro Morata, who has not scored since Boxing Day and, according to The Sunday Times, Antonio Conte is considering a swoop for Algerian targetman Slimani.
Conte currently has 24-year-old Michy Batshuayi in his ranks, although the Belgian has been linked with a temporary move away from West London.
While Morata did not score in Chelsea's win over Brighton on Saturday, winger Eden Hazard netted twice to inspire the win at the Amex Stadium.
