Chelsea are reportedly set to reopen negotiations over Mason Mount's contract in January, with the midfielder set to enter the last 18 months of his deal.

Chelsea are reportedly set to reopen discussions over a new contract for Mason Mount in January.

Since making his debut for the Blues in 2019, Mount has gone on to establish himself as a key part of the Chelsea side, registering 32 goals and 37 assists in 181 appearances.

Despite seemingly being a prominent figure in the Chelsea squad, talks over a new contract have failed to make significant progress.

Mount is set to enter the final 18 months of a five-year deal, but a recent report claimed that Chelsea were still confident of finding a breakthrough in negotiations.

According to the TEAMTalk Chelsea will resume discussions over a new contract in January, as they look to secure Mount's long-term future.

With talks appearing to stall, the 23-year-old has been linked with a potential move to Liverpool, who are looking to strengthen their midfield, while there is also believed to be interest from Juventus.

Mount started England's 6-2 victory over Iran at the World Cup in Qatar, and he is expected to retain his place in the side when the Three Lions face the United States on Friday.
