Chelsea are reportedly keen to include midfielder Ross Barkley in any proposal for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.
While the England international has been heavily linked with a future switch to Stamford Bridge, the Hammers are said to be demanding in the region of £80m.
Having already spent big in the current transfer window and the ongoing financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, Chelsea are reluctant to meet those demands.
However, according to Football Insider, the Blues are hoping to tempt West Ham into signing Barkley as part of any deal.
Although Frank Lampard has previously spoken highly of the playmaker, he now finds himself down the pecking order due to the arrival of Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz.
With Chelsea valuing Barkley in the region of £30m, they may be prepared to spend a further £40m to secure Rice's signature.
