Chelsea contemplate whether or not to make a move for Borrusia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter.

The Germany international played a key role in the heart of the Monchengladbach defence last season, making 31 top-flight appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

Chelsea have already been busy in the transfer market with the acquisitions of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, and a recent report claimed that the Blues are nearing a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.

Now, Kicker reports that Frank Lampard has set his sights on another Germany international, and the Chelsea manager is keen to bring Ginter to Stamford Bridge.

However, even though Ginter's contract with Monchengladbach has just under a year left to run, the report claims that the Bundesliga outfit will still demand a hefty fee for the 26-year-old.

Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be monitoring the situation.
