Chelsea to have Didier Drogba talks

Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay claims that the club will open contract talks with Didier Drogba at the end of the season.

Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay has confirmed that the club will hold talks with Didier Drogba over his future at the end of the season.

The striker, whose current contract expires at the end of the campaign, has yet to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

"We continue to discuss with Didier the situation," Gourlay told Sky Sports News.

"Didier loves this football club, we love Didier, and we'll continue to have the conversations.

"Didier and the rest of the team are completely focused on what we've got to achieve in the next week and, once that's finished, we'll sit down."

The Blues conclude their Premier League campaign on Sunday at home to Blackburn Rovers before they meet Bayern Munich in the Champions League final on Saturday, May 19.
