Chelsea are reportedly ready to go head-to-head with Everton for the signature of Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon.
The 23-year-old earned high praise for his performances in the 2019-20 La Liga campaign while on loan at Sevilla, where he registered two goals and four assists from 31 top-flight outings.
Everton have reportedly tabled an opening bid of £18m for the Spaniard, who is said to be rated highly by the powers at the Bernabeu, but Real could allow Reguilon to depart as they look to balance the books in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Chelsea's hunt for a new left-back has been well-documented in recent weeks, and according to Sky Sports News, Reguilon is firmly on Frank Lampard's radar.
The Blues are believed to have identified the defender as an ideal alternative to Leicester City's Ben Chilwell, who would reportedly cost Chelsea £80m despite the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.
Reguilon made 22 appearances for Real Madrid in the 2018-19 season before being shipped out on loan to Sevilla, and the left-back's current deal in the Spanish capital will run until 2023.
