Chelsea transfer news: Al-Nassr ready to pay at least £25m for prospect?

Chelsea reportedly have the opportunity to recoup at least £25m for one of their prospects after interest from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr.

Chelsea have reportedly been handed the opportunity to sell one of their prospects to Al-Nassr.

Despite concerns over their position with the Premier League's and UEFA's financial regulations, the Blues were spending money right up until the final minutes of the summer transfer window.

Although Chelsea have shelled out in excess of £200m, they have recouped at least £150m and substantially reduced their wage bill in the process.

Nevertheless, there are eight players on their books who are essentially available for a permanent or temporary exit at a time when there are only teams from limited nations who can still conduct business.

Ideally, Chelsea's board will want to find a new side for the high-earning Ben Chilwell or a club that can give regular minutes to Carney Chukwuemeka.

However, according to journalist Vene Casagrande,, the West Londoners have been presented with the chance to make huge headway in their efforts to comply with the necessary rules.

Saudi giants want Angelo

Al-Nassr are allegedly prepared to spend at least £25m to sign Brazilian youngster Angelo Gabriel over the next 24 hours.

The Saudi Pro League outfit are said to have currently failed with bids of £21m and £25m for the 19-year-old, Chelsea instead demanding £33m.

While Chelsea's hierarchy have taken that stance, it appears unlikely that a compromise will not be reached in due course, providing that the player is interested in a switch to the Middle East.

Angelo has been earmarked to take the last foreign Under-21 slot in their squad on the final day of their transfer window.

Understudy to star-studded players?

With Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo in the Al-Nassr ranks, Angelo would be unlikely to command a regular starting role if he did move to last season's runners-up.

That said, unless he receives an offer of more game time elsewhere, the former Santos winger may deem it to be a move worth making.

Despite playing 25 times for Strasbourg in 2023-24, Angelo is not in contention to play for Chelsea's first team, with Maresca acknowledging earlier in the summer that he feels that the starlet should go out on loan at the very least.

The deal could come under scrutiny, like it did with Deivid Washington on Friday. Chelsea currently stand to at least double their money on Angelo, who has not made a single competitive appearance for the club.

However, unlike was in the case of Deivid where two clubs owned by the same people were in line to do business, Al-Nassr are a team with no links to Chelsea and with owners in the Public Investment Fund who have shelled out big money in the past.
