Chelsea loan Sam Hutchinson to Vitesse Arnhem

Chelsea full-back Sam Hutchinson becomes the sixth Blues player to join Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem on a season-long loan deal.

Chelsea have allowed full-back Sam Hutchinson to join Vitesse Arnhem today on a season-long loan deal.

Hutchinson has been restricted to six first-team appearances for the Blues in a career full of persistent injury problems, which nearly saw the 24-year-old walk away from the game in 2010.

Nottingham Forest took Hutchinson on loan last season, but once again a knee injury kept his first-team chances to a minimum, playing nine times at the City Ground during a frustrating campaign.

The Blues have a strong working relationship with Vitesse and have sent their sixth player to the Dutch club in Hutchinson, who joins the likes of Christian Atsu, Patrick Van Aanholt, Gael Kakuta at Arnhem.
