Chelsea are reportedly in discussions with Southampton over a deal to re-sign their academy product Tino Livramento.

Chelsea are reportedly in talks to re-sign academy graduate Tino Livramento from Southampton.

Livramento has been linked with a move away from St Mary's after Southampton's 11-year stay in the Premier League came to an end last term.

Newcastle United have been leading the race for the right-back, but negotiations with Southampton have reached a stalemate.

After failing with an initial £12m offer, Eddie Howe's side returned with an improved bid believed to be worth £21m, which was also turned down by the Saints.

With Newcastle unable to reach an agreement, Chelsea have seemingly spotted the chance to pursue a deal for their former player.

According to the Daily Mail, the Blues are currently in discussions with the South coast club over a potential transfer.

With Livramento under contract until the summer of 2026, Southampton are in a strong position when it comes to negotiating a transfer fee.

The report claims that the Saints value him at £38m, which is significantly higher than the £8m fee that Chelsea sold him for in 2021.

Chelsea are keen to agree a deal that would see Livramento return to Southampton on loan to gain valuable playing time.

The England Under-21 international missed the majority of last season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in April 2022.

After spending 13 months on the sidelines, Livramento recovered in time to make substitute appearances in Southampton's final two games of the season.

Livramento rose through the youth ranks at Chelsea, and his talents were recognised in the 2020-21 campaign when he was named Academy Player of the Year.

Despite being highly regarded in the academy setup, the 20-year-old left the club without making a single appearance for the senior side.
