Chelsea will reportedly not be signing Everton midfielder Amadou Onana during the January transfer window.
The Blues are enjoying a highly active month in the market, already securing deals for six players including Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk and PSV Eindhoven winger Noni Madueke.
However, having failed to tempt Benfica into parting ways with Enzo Fernandez at the turn of the year, Chelsea remain in the hunt for a new central midfielder.
While there is talk of the Premier League outfit returning for the Argentina international, Brighton & Hove Albion's Moises Caicedo has been suggested as the most likely alternative.
Nevertheless, earlier this week, the name of Onana entered the equation, even though the Belgium international only moved to Goodison Park in August.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a key player in the centre of the pitch, making 16 starts and two substitute outings in the top flight.
That level of game time, as well as making two appearances for Belgium at the World Cup, has led to his reputation only being enhanced at this stage of the season.
Despite theoretically having the opportunity to move to Chelsea, it is suggested that Onana has wasted little time in turning down that alleged chance.
According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Onana does not want to depart Everton during the current transfer window.

Chelsea are said to have made contact with Onana's representatives, only to be told that he has no interest in another switch of clubs.
In a separate report by The Telegraph, Chelsea were said to be prepared to give Everton a chance to sign a number of players on loan.
The Merseyside outfit have been linked with a number of Chelsea's squad players, including Hakim Ziyech who has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Anthony Gordon.
With Andrey Santos taking Chelsea's central-midfield contingent up to nine, the likes of Conor Gallagher may have become an option for Everton.
