Chelsea are reportedly preparing to strengthen their squad, with up to three new players being targeted to join the club during the upcoming January transfer window.
Mauricio Pochettino's side suffered a 2-0 defeat by Everton at Goodison Park last week, which left them on just four wins in 16 Premier League matches this term and 12th in the league standings.
Chelsea have spent over £1bn on player signings since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital assumed control of The Blues in the summer of 2022.
According to a report from Football Insider, Chelsea have now shortlisted three forwards ahead of the January transfer window, with Ivan Toney believed to be one of the main targets.
The report adds that following Robert Sanchez's injury in their last match against Everton, The Blues are also planning to sign a new goalkeeper during the winter transfer window.
However, it is understood that the acquisition of new players for Chelsea will rely on the sale of existing players within the club.
Nicolas Jackson has scored seven times in 18 appearances for The Blues but has struggled with fitness issues since his £32m move from Villareal in the summer.
Conor Gallagher is also believed to be one of the midfielders who could be set to part ways with the London club next month.
