Chelsea confirm that Atalanta BC have taken up their option to push through a permanent deal for midfielder Mario Pasalic.

Chelsea have announced that Mario Pasalic has joined Atalanta BC on a permanent basis.

Despite signing for Chelsea as far back as 2014, Pasalic has never made a first-team appearance for the Blues in a competitive match.

However, the 25-year-old is currently established as one of the best midfielder in Serie A, contributing 10 goals from 57 outings since 2018.

When pushing through his loan deal that same year, Atalanta reached an agreement with Chelsea where they would be able to sign Pasalic for £13.5m.

Both clubs have now confirmed that the formalities have been completed, resulting in Chelsea making a profit in excess of £10m.

The departure comes at a time when the Premier League outfit are planning several significant additions to their squad over the coming months.
