Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez admits that he is unsure whether Daniel Sturridge will be sold in January.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has admitted that he is not sure whether Daniel Sturridge will be sold in the January transfer window.

The striker has been heavily linked with a £14m move to Benitez's former club Liverpool in the New Year.

When asked if a switch was imminent, the Spaniard told the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle: "We will see. You never know in the market.

"I don't know what [the press] said, because I didn't read the press."

Sturridge, who has been dogged by injury problems this season, last played for Chelsea in their 2-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion on November 17.
