Bayern Munich: 'We do not want David Luiz'

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists that the club have no intention of signing Chelsea defender David Luiz.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has laughed off speculation linking Chelsea defender David Luiz with a move to the Allianz Arena.

The 26-year-old is believed to have emerged as a summer target for the reigning German and European champions in recent weeks.

However, Rummenigge was unequivocal in his assertion that the Bavarian giants are not interested in signing the Brazil international.

He told the club's official website: "There's a lot of speculation at the moment and it's an extreme situation in England.

"We're being linked with David Luiz and a number of Spanish players at this present time.

"Let me state this very clearly: it's all of no interest whatsoever to us. We're not yet concerned about the situation regarding the playing staff next summer."

Luiz is contracted to the Blues until 2017.
