Atletico Madrid are allegedly prepared to lower the asking price of Joao Felix, who is currently on loan at Chelsea.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly open to lowering their demands for Joao Felix during the summer transfer window.

Despite contributing four goals and three assists from 651 minutes of La Liga football this campaign, Felix was allowed to link up with Chelsea in January.

However, the powers-that-be at Wanda Metropolitano were insistent that any agreement was on a temporary basis without the option of a permanent deal.

Felix has endured an eventual start to life at Stamford Bridge, initially being sent off on his debut against Fulham which led to a three-match ban.

The Portugal international was forced to spend almost a month on the sidelines before returning on Saturday, where he impressed against West Ham United and got on the scoresheet.

As it stands, it is unclear whether Chelsea are interested in securing a permanent deal for the 23-year-old at the end of the season, when they are expected to make further high-profile additions.

A recent report suggested that was unlikely given that Atletico may be asking for €140m (£124.3m) in the summer, Felix still possessing a contract until 2027.

However, according to Relevo, Atletico are open to lowering that valuation if it means completing a sale ahead of 2023-24.

The report suggests that Atletico may be willing to accept a fee in the region of €100m (£88.3m), partly due to already generating a significant loan fee for the attacker.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has allegedly been left impressed by the performances of Felix and the American was in attendance to watch his new signings at the London Stadium at the weekend.

When commenting on his future last week, Felix acknowledged that he was unsure whether he would be in West London on a short or long-term basis.

Speaking to AS, Felix said: "They don't have a purchase option, so they'd have to reach an agreement with Atletico. I've only been here for a few weeks or so, a month.

"I'm still getting to know my new surroundings. I really like it here, but it's impossible to say what'll happen in the future."

Felix will hope to make his third Chelsea start when they face Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday night.
