AC Milan have reportedly joined the race to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The 28-year-old is expected to leave the Westfalenstadion after a prolific four-year spell at the club, with some of Europe's biggest names interested in the striker.
The likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool have been credited with an interest, while Chelsea are understood to have stepped up their pursuit after missing out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.
However, Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claims that the Premier League champions could face more disappointment in the transfer window, with Milan readying a mega-money bid for the Gabon international.
The Rossoneri are reportedly willing to spend almost £71m to bring Aubameyang to San Siro as their new owners look to develop a team capable of taking the club back to the top of Italian football.
However, Milan's lack of Champions League participation could harm their attempts to sign the frontman, while Chelsea would be able to offer him better wages once they offload Diego Costa this summer.
Aubameyang won the Bundesliga Golden Boot last season with 31 goals in just 32 matches.
