Chelsea boss Antonio Conte does not fear the sack because he believes that he is judged differently to the managers that went before him at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has claimed that he does not fear the sack because he is being judged differently to previous managers at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian won the Premier League in his first season in charge, but the Blues have stumbled this time round, sitting fourth in the table, nine points behind leaders Manchester City.

On Saturday, Chelsea were 2-1 down at home to Watford with 19 minutes to go, before eventually rallying round for a 4-2 win.

When asked about the show of character he got from his players which other Chelsea managers might not have got in similar adverse times, Conte replied: "I am not like the previous managers. I am different.

"It is important to understand this. The club has to judge the work and honestly, I don't have this type of worry, about if I lose the game, if the club decides to sack me.

"Why am I different? Only because in the past, the club decided after two losses or three bad games to sack a manager. I don't think it is the same for every manager.

"You change the person, change the work. I repeat. If you ask if I feel this type of pressure about the club, it is zero."

Chelsea, currently boasting 16 points from their first nine league games, return to action on Wednesday with a trip to face Everton in the EFL Cup.
