Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck expresses his relief that captain John Terry can now focus on the season ahead following the defender's acquittal of racism charges.

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has claimed that the Premier League club "respect" the Magistrates' Court's decision to acquit Blues skipper John Terry.

The 31-year-old defender was cleared of racially abusing Queens Park Rangers centre-back Anton Ferdinand following a five-day trial at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

Buck said outside the court: "Chelsea FC notes and we respect the decision of the magistrate today. We are pleased that John can now put his mind to football and go back to training, and can do what he's done for many years."

It is understood that Terry plans to go on holiday and then return to the Champions League winners for training ahead of the new season.
