Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has said that he has a long way to go before he can be compared with club legend Marcel Desailly.
Zouma starred for the Blues in their League Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, and manager Jose Mourinho has recently compared him to Desailly, who played 211 times for the club.
Zouma told reporters: "What the boss said, that I could be like Desailly, is a lovely thing. But it is too early to say that because Marcel is a legend of Chelsea and I have only played 10 games and I am 20 years old. I have to improve.
"Marcel is one of my idols. I loved to watch him play when I was younger. He was an amazing performer and important for Chelsea. To be like him I have to keep working hard.
"I have never met him but one day I hope I will. I was just happy to play in that team yesterday. Everyone wants to win titles. I am so happy."
Zouma joined Chelsea from Saint-Etienne last year.
