Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers full of praise for Chelsea "warrior" John Terry

Brendan Rodgers lauds the passing ability and "warrior" nature of Chelsea captain John Terry after watching his Liverpool side draw 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has described Chelsea defender John Terry as a "warrior" after his side's 1-1 draw with the Premier League champions this afternoon.

Chelsea skipper Terry put the hosts in front in today's match with a well-directed header inside the opening five minutes, a goal that made him the highest-scoring defender in Premier League history.

A former coach at Chelsea, Rodgers knows Terry well and picked out the former England captain's passing and tenacity in a post-match interview.

"I worked here for four years with John Terry," he told BBC Sport. "He is the best centre-half in the league in his years. A wonderful passer of the ball and a warrior."

Terry, 34, has played every minute of Chelsea's Premier League campaign so far this term.
