Jose Mourinho: 'I would reject Portugal job'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho claims that he would have to reject an approach from Portugal while he was at the club.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that he would reject the chance to coach Portugal if he were approached in the future.

Mourinho revealed that he accepted the job previously, but was prevented from taking on the role as he was still with a former club.

"They tried to take me lots of times and was only one time I accepted because it was a part-time job," the Chelsea boss told BT Sport.

"I wanted to do the same time club and national team, and at the time I wanted to accept. But my president at the time decided not to let me do the national team job.

"After that I reflected and I have to agree it was not possible to do both jobs at the same time. It's not even ethical for a manager to have two jobs with so many managers without one job, it's not acceptable."

Mourinho has only suffered defeat once with Chelsea this season, and his side currently hold a three-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
