Jose Mourinho expecting Football Association punishment after TV rant

Jose Mourinho admits that he may "be punished" for taking a swipe at the standard of officiating in the Premier League following his side's latest defeat.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confessed that his seven-minute television rant could land him in hot water with the Football Association.

The Portuguese laid bare his frustrations with the standard of officiating in the Premier League following his side's 3-1 defeat at home to Southampton.

Speaking to Sky Sports in the immediate aftermath of the Blues' latest setback, the 52-year-old claimed that referee Robert Madley wrongly waved away Radamel Falcao's second-half penalty shout when the game was still locked at 1-1.

Mourinho now expects to face an FA rap for his comments, telling Chelsea TV: "I think it's time for people to be honest and say that I'm right.

"Maybe I'm going to be punished but I have to say it, because my players and the supporters deserve me to say it... we don't get one decision from the referees. One."

Chelsea find themselves down in 16th place in the league table, having won just two of their opening eight fixtures.
