Jose Mourinho backs Felix Magath to save Fulham

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho backs Felix Magath to save Fulham from relegation from the Premier League this season.

Felix Magath will keep Fulham in the Premier League this season, according to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese coach's side convincingly beat Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage on Saturday to keep the strugglers rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.

Fulham are now four points from safety with 10 games to play, though Mourinho has backed Magath's experience to guide the Cottagers to safety.

"I think Magath is the man, a man with big experience, a man that has no fear of these big situations because he always has big situations," Mourinho told reporters.

"He has a lot to give to the players, I can imagine it is not easy. To go to a club mid-season is difficult, I would like him to survive and start a new season.

"For sure they will fight and get many points."

Fulham have not picked up three points from a game since their win over West Ham United on New Year's Day.
