Ronald Koeman praises goalkeeper Fraser Forster

Ronald Koeman praises goalkeeper Fraser Forster and labels him as "one of the best in Europe".

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has praised goalkeeper Fraser Forster for his performance against Chelsea, labelling him "one of the best in Europe".

Diego Costa put the Blues 1-0 up early on, only for the Saints to reply through a penalty after Sadio Mane was clumsily brought down by Nemanja Matic in the area.

Despite impressive performances from Mane and Shane Long, Koeman singled out Forster for his goalkeeping display towards the end of the match.

"Fraser was fantastic," Koeman told the club's official website.

"Fantastic in the difficult moments. He helped the team from his goalkeeping and we know he is one of the best in Europe."

The draw moves the Saints above Tottenham Hotspur into sixth place, while Chelsea failed to capitalise on Manchester City's slip-up against Burnley on Saturday.
