Cesc Fabregas: 'Eden Hazard needs to prove himself in the Champions League'

Cesc Fabregas says that Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard needs to "prove himself" in the Champions League next season.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has claimed that Eden Hazard needs to prove his worth in the Champions League next season.

The Belgium international, who has scored 14 goals so far in this campaign, picked up the PFA Player of the Year award last month.

Fabregas is confident that his teammate can one day reach the heights of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but he believes that the Belgian needs to show his skill on the European stage first.

"He can be one of those, for sure," FourFourTwo quotes Fabregas as saying. "He can be up there for sure. He's had a fantastic season, I just want for him to do it again next year and to be even better. He's the main guy. In my mind he is the guy that makes this team better than it is.

"Next year, he has to prove himself in the Champions League as well because he is capable of that, and I am sure he will give many big nights of glory to this club."

Hazard scored the winning goal against Crystal Palace on Sunday that sealed the Premier League title for Chelsea.
