Spain's national team manager Vicente del Bosque has revealed that the door is still open for Chelsea striker Fernando Torres, despite dropping him in last month's friendly.
The 27-year-old missed out on the world champions' international fixture against Venezuela due to the frontman's poor form at Stamford Bridge.
Despite Torres's failure to make an impact in the Blues' team following his £50m switch from Liverpool las year, Del Bosque has insisted that the Spaniard could make a return for the European Championships.
"We still have time for [Torres] to prove that he should return to the national team," said Del Bosque.
"Fernando has been a fixture and is practically a fixture in our squads, in all the squads except the last one. The last squad was in no way a final decision on anyone, least of all on Fernando."
Torres has just five goals to his name after over a year with the former Premier League champions.
