Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is set for a loan switch to Werder Bremen, according to reports.

Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne will join Werder Bremen on loan, according to reports.

The 20-year-old Belgian signed for Chelsea in January but was immediately loaned back to Racing Genk for the remainder of the campaign.

Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs told Kicker: "I can confirm that news. We are to work out a loan switch.

"We have had many discussions and some talks lately and I feel we are at an advanced level regarding this loan deal."

De Brunye will move in search of first-team opportunities that look to be limited at Stamford Bridge this season.

Chelsea have bolstered their attacking options considerably in the close season, signing Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and Brazilian international Oscar.
