Antonio Conte to phase out Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic?

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will reportedly phase out Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic from the side in the coming weeks.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly planning to phase out Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic as part of an overhaul of the Blues' backline.

The Italian is thought to have been left furious with the performance of his defenders in the 3-0 loss at Arsenal on Saturday and, according to the Daily Mail, he will be "ruthless" with his team selections in the coming weeks.

Captain John Terry and fellow centre-back Kurt Zouma are due back from injury in short order, but Conte is said to be eyeing the January transfer window as an opportunity to bring in some new faces, with a new full-back and two new centre-backs high on his shopping list.

Blues scouts have been seen watching Burnley's Michael Keane and Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson, while the club failed with bids for Leonardo Bonucci and Kalidou Koulibaly from Serie A over the summer.

After a perfect start to the season, Chelsea are now winless in three games, conceding seven times in the process.
