This evening's fixture between Chelsea and Newcastle United could become the second Premier League match of the day to be postponed.
Severe downpours have descended upon London throughout the afternoon, resulting in adverse playing conditions at Stamford Bridge.
A message on Newcastle's official Twitter page read: "Referee Phil Dowd having a chat with the groundstaff, the assistants are looking at the surface water by the touchlines. Still raining."
Sunderland's home encounter against Reading, which was due to get underway 3pm, fell victim to the wet conditions.
Newcastle's trip to Chelsea is meant to kick off at 5.30pm.
