Enzo Maresca breaks his silence on the power struggle taking place between Chelsea's co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Chelse head coach Enzo Maresca has insisted he is not focused on the current power struggle between co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Boehly and Behdad Eghbali's Clearlake have been co-owners for over two years after completing a takeover from Roman Abramovich in the summer of 2022.

Chelsea have been active in the transfer window under the current ownership structure, including the recent summer market where they made several new additions, including Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

While the ownership oversaw a busy summer, it soon emerged that the relationship between Boehly and Clearklake had reached a breaking point.

There has been a suggestion that Clearlake and Boehly could look to buy each other out, but neither party are seemingly keen to relinquish their stake in the club.

Maresca addresses ownership situation

Eghbali's Clearlake owns 61.5% of Chelsea, while the remaining 38.5% is equally split between Boehly, Mark Walter and Hansjorg Wyss.

With the current ownership situation now in a state of uncertainty, Maresca was asked about the issue ahead of Saturday's Premier League meeting with Bournemouth.

Maresca insisted that he is focused on matters on the pitch rather than the current power struggle in the Chelsea boardroom.

"If I spend my energy on something different then it's not worth it, my focus is on tomorrow's game to be honest," Maresca told reporters.

"In the last week I've done the same thing, focus on the game and how to prepare in the best way. The other things are things I cannot control. I spoke with Todd when we played City and Behdad just days ago; I'm speaking with both, there's no problems at all. I'm focused on the pitch.

"The players are professional to understand that these things are things we can't control so the focus is the pitch, the way we need to improve. I don't know if something will happen, I have no idea."

All eyes on Bournemouth clash

Maresca and his players will look to block out the outside noise and speculation about the club's ownership situation when they return to Premier League action on Saturday.

The Chelsea boss is still in the early stages of his career as a Premier League manager, having seen his side take four points from his three top-flight matches in charge.

With the Blues sitting in 11th place, they will be looking to move up the table by claiming maximum points against Bournemouth.
