Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers to shake hands?

Queens Park Rangers and Chelsea could shake hands before their fixture on Saturday for the first time since John Terry allegedly abused Anton Ferdinand.

Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers could shake hands prior to their match at Loftus Road on Saturday.

The two teams have abandoned the usual pre-match ritual in their previous two meetings after Chelsea captain John Terry was accused of racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.

Terry was cleared of the charge in court, but still faces an FA investigation over the incident.

Despite the potential tension, however, the Premier League are expecting the handshakes to go ahead as normal.

"We are expecting the handshakes to go forward," said a spokesperson.

The match could also feature Ashley Cole, who appeared as a character witness for Terry during his trial.
