Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo plays down Diego Simeone exit talk

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo denies claims that Diego Simeone has agreed to take charge of Chelsea at the end of the season.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has played down suggestions that Diego Simeone is heading for Chelsea this summer.

It is understood that Chelsea have made the Atletico manager their main target to replace interim boss Guus Hiddink at the end of the season.

However, Cerezo, who shares a close relationship with the former Argentina international, has said that Simeone "is fine where he is".

"Cholo is fine where he is, and I think he'll be here for a long time," Cerezo told Marca.

Atletico, who have won five major trophies under Simeone, are currently preparing to take on rivals Real Madrid in the Madrid derby at the Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon.
