Andre Villas-Boas is confident that John Terry is in the right frame of mind to play for Chelsea this weekend.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas believes that the racism row between John Terry and Queens Park Rangers' Anton Ferdinand has been a "big misunderstanding".

The Chelsea captain has denied allegations that he racially abused Ferdinand during the side's 1-0 defeat to QPR last weekend.

Despite the ongoing investigation headed by the Football Association, the former Porto boss is confident that the England skipper is focused on the upcoming Premier League match against Arsenal.

"I have no concerns about his state of mind and I would say it's a big misunderstanding," said Villas-Boas. "I don't think [the investigation] has been a distraction for us.

"For us, it was important to go back to winning ways in the Carling Cup. Now it is important for us to go back to winning ways in the Premier League after the defeat at QPR.

"We haven't lost too much focus on the situation because there's nothing to lose focus on."

Meanwhile, Ferdinand has insisted that he is not letting the alleged incident distract him from matters on the pitch.
