Andre Villas-Boas believes that John Terry is "focused" on leading Chelsea despite facing criminal charges for racial abuse.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas believes that John Terry's commitment to the Blues has increased since he was charged with allegedly racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand.

The 31-year-old captained his side against Tottenham Hotspur last night, which resulted in a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane.

The centre-back endured continuous jeers from the Spurs supporters following the Crown Prosecution Service's decision to criminally charge the England captain.

"His performances, commitment and concentration have increased since the incident and he anticipated the situation at the end there," said Villas-Boas. "It was a big opportunity for Tottenham.

"His quality and talent are never in doubt. He's completely focused to the cause of this football club."

Terry will face magistrates in London on February 1.
