Rafael Benitez will shake Neil Warnock's hand

Rafael Benitez says that he will shake Neil Warnock's hand prior to Chelsea's League Cup tie against Leeds United tomorrow night.

Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has revealed that he will shake the hand of his opposite number Neil Warnock tomorrow night.

The pair share a frosty relationship that dates back to 2007 when Warnock blamed the then-Liverpool boss for his Sheffield United's side relegation from the Premier League.

Warnock had been disappointed by Benitez resting a number of key players in a match against Fulham, who were also threatened by relegation and won the encounter.

In retaliation, Benitez threatened to sue Warnock through his legal representatives.

However, despite the animosity, Benitez has insisted that he will be "professional" when his Chelsea side take on Leeds United at Elland Road.

When asked he will shake hands with Warnock, the Spaniard replied: "I'm professional so I will do my job. I'm professional, I will behave."

Warnock has also recently moved to play down the problems between the pair.
