Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says that midfielder Nemanja Matic has sustained a "little muscular problem".

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has revealed that a "little muscular problem" is the reason why Nemanja Matic missed out on selection for the Premier League match with Manchester City.

Matic has proven to be a key part of Chelsea's 3-4-3 formation but a minor injury has resulted in him being replaced by Cesc Fabregas for the game at the Etihad Stadium.

The 47-year-old said: "Matic is suffering a little muscular problem and for this reason I change it, but I think Cesc is in good shape and he can show all of his value today. I trust him."

Matic had featured in each of Chelsea's league matches before his absence this afternoon.
