Jose Mourinho: 'Manchester City deserved win'

Jose Mourinho admits that Manchester City deserved to beat his Chelsea side in the FA Cup.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that Manchester City deserved to win against his side in their FA Cup fifth-round clash on Saturday evening.

Mourinho said that the fact City were in control for much of the game shows how well his team did a fortnight ago to win 1-0 in the Premier League.

"I don't say my team failed, I say City played much better than us, deserved much more than us to win," BBC Sport quotes Mourinho as saying. "The situation is simple to analyse: They were the best team, they won.

"The second goal was an offside but we would still have lost 1-0 as we were never close to scaring City in the game.

"Today proved how difficult it is to win here, which shows how well my team did in the last game."

In Saturday's other all-Premier League clash, Sunderland beat Southampton.
